Tajine-aux-Pommes 8003-001

I posted a different recipes of moroccan tagines,

a big variety of tagines with different flavors.

It's the first time that I present you a tagine

with a fruit "Apple".

20130407-193759

The flavor is very different, delicious, a mixture between

savory and sweet. It tastes a little bit like a

quince tajine (already posted in my blog).

Tajine-aux-Pommes 7998

As I explained on my video, I cooked the meat seraretly

with spices in the tagine, I let the apples slices caramelised

in butter, sugar and cinnamon. Once cooked, I decored

the tagine with the apple slices on the top.

Delicious!!! yum yum!!

Amlou

L'huile d'Argane

The oil which is famous for having retroactive effects,

has become one of the latest miracle ingredients in

the beauty industry.

Essaouira 239

 Argane tree produces the most unique edible

oil in the world and it's renowned

for its anti cancer properties.

Amlou

Amlou is a chunky paste which some people have

compared to tahini or peanut butter. It is made with

argan oil, almonds or peanuts, and sometimes

honey or sugar.

In Essaouira, a very labor intensive process,

performed primarily by Moroccan women, is required

to shell and crush the fruits prior to pressing the Argane oil.

I tried two recipes of strawberry jam, one with pectin

and the other one without.The result is 100 % the same.

So I prefer to present you the recipe of jam without pectin.

It's very easy and cheaper to make,

the jam is soft and delicious.

2010-05-03 peanut butter cookies2010-05-03-peanut-butter-cookies1.jpg

Hi friends, today I would like to share with you a type

of Peanut Butter Cookies, you can replace the peanut

butter by almonds, they are tender and very delicious.

INGREDIENTS :

* 1 1/4 cups flour

* 3.4 oz powdered sugar

* 8 Tbs soft  butter

* 1/2 tsp baking powder

* salt

* 1 egg

* 3.5 oz sugar

* 7 oz roasted peanuts

STEPS :

Mix together flour, powdered sugar, baking powder,

salt and butter, you will obtain a sandy mixture,

add the egg and continue to mix until you get a

soft dough. Wrap in a plastic bag, put in the fridge 30 min.

Roast the peanuts, mix with sugar

(the peanuts should be still hot),

set aside.

On a floured surface, spread the dough out,

cover it with the peanut mixture.

Roll it and put it once again in the fridge.

Prepare the baking sheet, cover

it with parchment paper.

Cut the stick into small pieces.

Place into the baking sheet.

Bake in a preheated oven at 360 F, 12 min.

Here is the video for more details.

To go back to the recipe,

Nutella chocolate needs to be soft

  to facilitate to work with it.

Nutella-Bread-008.JPG

For those who have never used Nutella chocolate,

it is a chocolate hazelnut spread that is very

popular in Europe, it is often eaten at breakfast.

Confiture Kumquats et Mandarines

  The current recipe is a recipe

for Kumquat and Tangarine jam.

I poste you the video at the end of the article

Confiture-Kumquats---Mandarines--6--copie-1.JPG

  I have discovered this fruit here in Florida

for the first time, during the state fair, a festival

 which gets organized every year.

 Confiture-Kumquats---Mandarines--8--copie-1.JPG

    Kumquats are fruit trees of the family

Rutaceae, native of China and Malaysia.

Today they are cultivated in the United States more

In particular in the South Florida and California.

Confiture-Kumquats---Mandarines--1--copie-1.jpg

    The kumquat is a small round or oval fruit from 2 to 5 cms

of length. It's yellow-orange peel is edible.

Its flesh is acidulated.

Confiture-Kumquats---Mandarines--2--copie-1.jpg

   Kumquats is often cooked whole in compote

or candied. It is also used in cake

and in cooking, incorporated into stuffing

or bitter-sweet sauces.

Confiture-Kumquats---Mandarines--3--copie-1.jpg

   It can be consumed directly with the peel which is soft

what gives a sweet flavor to the  strong and slightly bitter fruit,

which is the opposite of other citrus fruits.

Confiture-Kumquats---Mandarines--5--copie-1.JPG

 I prepared several jams as you can

see at my blog site, but honestly

this jam is my favorite.
