Gulab jamun ( گلاب جامن ) is a popular dessert in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. It is made of a dough consisting mainly of milk solids, which is rolled into a ball together with some flour and then deep fried. It is then put into in a sugar syrup flavored with cardamon seeds and rosewater.
Gulab jamun is common at weddings.
The term gulab jamun comes from Persian, gulab, "rosewater" referring to the rosewater-scented syrup,

This recipe was requested from my husband, he ate them in an Indian restaurant in Germany, since then, he has not stopped demanding it, I only eat them occasionaly because they are too sweet for me.

I would like to share with you this photo of this magnificent mosque that I had the pleasure visiting during my vacation in Morocco.
 Alhamdo lillah my dream came true, I prayed inside of this mosque " Mosque Hassan 2 " In Casablanca.
It is the 3rd biggest mosque in the world, after Mecca and Medina.

I wish to all muslims, all over the world a happy El Aid.

Before talking about the current recipe, I would like to bring to your attention, especially to those who have difficulty finding a recipe, there is a bar "Recherche" which is in the left side of this article, is reserved to look for a recipe in my blog.

The current recipe is very simple, cookies 
with poppy seeds, it is a regular basic recipe, eggs, butter and flour, with a flavor of vanilla or zest of lemon, I added it a few poppy seeds, which gave them a very pleasant flavor.

My husband was on vacation visting his sister, he brought me multiple things; walnuts, lemons, grenadines, pears and a big bouquet of Ratabagas.
( Regretably I was not able to travel with him because
of my leg).
As soon as I saw the Rutabagas, I thought of a good couscous and a delicious tagine that I used to eat in Morocco at  my mother's house.

I began with a tagine, I just added a few potatoes to give a well-balanced taste, knowing that the flavor of Rutabagas is a little bit bitter.

This is a very easy jam, it 's almost the same procedure used

to prepare other jams, I added lemon and orange, this gave

a delicious fresh taste that everybody liked.

It is a recipe found in one of my German books that I kept carefully among my collection of culinary books. It pleases me "to dive" into these books from time to time. I cannot stop myself of buying although I have more than 300 books in 4 languages; Arabic, French, English and German.


What was bizzare, is that I found the same recipe in one

 of my Arabic books, the difference between both recipes,

 is the filling, instead of the cream of almond in the german book, it is the white cream chocolate and coconut in the arabic book. I preferred the almond filling.

Although I still feel very weak, my leg hurts alot, I am anxious to give you further updates on how I am doing as some of you have been asking (it is my son who posted this article).


The operation lasted 2 hours, everything went well, I still feel weak because of the anesthesia and the antibiotics, I try to sleep, which is very difficult because of the pain.

Anyway alhamdolillah, I am good, my husband and my children help me especially my daughter(3 years), she never leaves me, she was even kind enough  to say to the Doctor before the operation:

" Please Doctor, be nice to my mom ", I had tears in my eyes.

She helps me, but if I ask to much she rebels against me if my request are to much  hahahah...


 I thank you my dear friends, I really did not know that I have so many people around me that care, your comments are heart  warming to me , you cheered me up, when I was feeling at down below zero. A thousand thanks to every person who has come to my blog  and shown me  kindness, inchaallah I shall meet you very soon, with more new recipes.
